The school counseling program at Sand Hill Elementary is designed to be proactive and developmental.  Services provided include: classroom guidance, individual student counseling, small group counseling, and assisting parents in locating appropriate community resources when necessary.

All students in kindergarten through fifth grade will receive classroom guidance. I go to each classroom one day a week for 30 minutes for 6 weeks dependent on each teacher's schedule.  Lessons will vary depending on the grade level.  Common topics can include: friendship, cooperation, respect, being kind and making appropriate choices.

Individual student counseling/consultation is available to all students through parent/guardian referral, self referral or teacher request.

In addition to seeing students individually and in a classroom setting, specific information can be provided in small groups.  The small counseling groups typically offered at Sand Hill include: Anger Management, Divorce/Family Changes, Grief, and Self-Esteem/Friendship.  Students can be referred to a group through parent and/or teacher request.  However, a student can only attend small group counseling after a permission form has been signed and returned by a parent or guardian.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can help your child in any way.
