Bio

I enjoy teaching music to children. My parents gave me and my four siblings the opportunity to study piano, beginning in third grade, which gave us a foundation for our music studies. I also played clarinet in the school band, grade five through twelve.  In addition, we grew up singing in church with the congregation and then in children, youth and adult choirs. I played piano in church at the age of 15, and directed my first Christmas program in church with children and youth.  I am a graduate of Villa Rica High School, a true VR Wildcat....WE ARE VR!

I studied music at the University of West Georgia, and became the music teacher of Sand Hill Elementary in 1992.  In 2008, music and art was split between Sand Hill and Ithica Elementary.  I now teach 1500+ elementary students each year, Grades K-5 in both schools.  In addition to teaching general music, I direct choir for fourth and fifth grades at both schools and prepare fifth grade students for Carroll County Honor Chorus every spring. We enjoy musical productions such as "The Nutcracker" and "The Sound of Music" which we perform at our beautiful CC Performing Arts Center.
